Members of Valley Arts Alliance hung the fourth installation of seasonal paintings in the hospital lobby areas at Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) in Pittsfield recently. In partnership with Valley Arts Alliance, which is a group of over thirty artists and supporters of the arts in the Sebasticook Valley region, the hospital hosts a rotating art exhibit for public viewing.
What began in January, the exhibit features artwork by local artists using the theme of seasons as their guide. SVH President/CEO and EMHS Senior Vice-President Terri Vieira commented, “Our patients and visitors have been interested and look forward to viewing art in our hallways and waiting areas. It’s a privilege to offer opportunities for local artists to showcase their original artwork in our public spaces, and these beautiful prints and paintings infuse color and endearing images that represent our region outside the walls of our community hospital.”
The autumn landscapes, which are the fourth installment in the Seasons exhibit, are by local artists Pam Peltier Dickinson, Jeanne Finley, and Bonnie Ross. The artwork will be on display through mid-December when the exhibit will transition to winter-themed artwork.
According to their website (www.valleyartsalliance.org), the Valley Arts Alliance supports locations for exhibiting works by our visual artists in the Newport and Pittsfield areas. The group’s goals are to offer an opportunity for artists and groups living here to collaborate and create new opportunities to be creative in the arts.
