SVH offers trauma care and emergency services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in its emergency department. Staffed by physicians at all times, the SVH Emergency Department serves over a thousand patients monthly who arrive on their own or by ambulance to our facility.
SVH Ambulance Service
SVH Ambulance Service provides residents and visitors of the Sebasticook Valley Region with emergency response and medical transportation services. We serve as a full-time 24-hour ALS and BLS serving the local and regional community. Many of the paramedics have undergone additional training in critical care.
In addition to responding to emergency calls, the SVH Ambulance Service provides community services and education programs to promote good health and emergency preparedness. We offer paramedic coverage at sporting events, fairs and festivals, and structure fires. Some of our community services and education programs include:
- Non-emergency ground transfer service
- Health education presentations
- Emergency preparedness presentations and ambulance "tours" to school children
With access to member EMHS facilities throughout the state of Maine, as well as LifeFlight air transport services to larger hospitals in Maine and New England, SVH can handle virtually any type of health emergency with some of the best healthcare resources in Maine and beyond.
To the residents of central Maine, this is the access to quality care they deserve when care is needed most.
