Living Well Program Starts Feb. 21

Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) is once again offering the Living Well Program, which begins February 21st, 2013. Living Well is a free six-week workshop for anyone living with a long-term health problem, connecting participants with others experiencing the isolating effects of chronic disease or pain. Living Well provides skills and information for healthier, more productive lives. Anyone living with a long-term health condition is welcome and is encouraged to bring a family member, friend, or caregiver.

The program meets for 2½ hour sessions to help participants improve health one step at a time. Living Well is for anyone living with a long-term health problem, such as asthma, arthritis, cancer, COPD, congestive heart failure, diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease, obesity, Parkinsons, or other chronic illness. By taking part in the Living Well program, participants will learn better ways of coping and managing their health by setting goals that are doable, working with others, finding support and solutions to problems, making daily tasks easier, relaxing, managing stress, and working in partnership with their health care teams.

The Living Well Program will be held every Thursday starting on February 21 to March 28, from 3 PM to 5:30 PM, at the SVH Administration Building on 130 Leighton Street in Pittsfield.

Please register early by contacting SVH Community Health at 487.3890 ext. 2735 (TTY: 487.4590).
