Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) is honoring employees, providers, and volunteers during Healthcare Week, which is May 6th through May 12th. This year’s theme is “Making Miracles Happen” and will feature a week of celebration for SVH patients and friends. Highlights of what SVH is offering during the week include:
- Living Well Program information with Karen Hawkes (487.3890 ext. 2733) on May 7th, 8 am to Noon at the hospital main lobby in Pittsfield. Information will be available about the free Living Well Program for people living with chronic illness; chances to win a $75 farm share.
- Community Health and Education offerings and information with Laurie Alexander (487.3890 ext. 2731) on May 9th, 8 am to Noon at the hospital main lobby in Pittsfield. Information will be available about SVH community education programs and opportunities, with chances to win a $50 gift certificate for a CPR and First Aid class.
- Free Adult Blood Pressure Screenings at Newport Bud’s Shop ‘n Save on May 10th,10 am to Noon. Free blood pressure screenings will be offered.
- Physician Forums on Thursday, May 10th at 5:30 pm, in the SVH Boardroom, 130 Leighton St., Pittsfield; speakers include:
- SVH Cardiologist Michael Lemieux, MD, FACP will present information on cardiac health and recognition of symptoms;
- SVH Family Care provider Emily Cianchette, MSN, FNP-BC will present information on Lyme disease precautions and action; and
- SVH General Surgeon Mohammad Niayesh, MD, FACS will present information on skin cancer precautions and treatment.
