SVH Golf Tournament Raises Money for Courtesy Van

Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) held its 15th Annual Golf Tournament and Auction on July 25, 2015, to benefit the SVH Courtesy Van Service. This year’s event raised $45,666.00. The van service provides a way for our patients to get to appointments within the SVH service areas, often meaning the difference between obtaining the needed health care or no health care.

Eighty-eight golfers, made up of SVH Board of Trustee members, medical staff and employees, along with community members and staff from other EMHS member hospitals participated in the “Fun-Fund” raiser.  The event was held at J W Parks Golf Course in Pittsfield, Maine.

SVH President and CEO/EMHS Senior Vice President Terri Vieira commented, “This was a tremendous year for the SVH Benefit Golf Tournament and Auction. We owe a great deal of thanks to our participants, sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event a success. In this year alone, our van service has provided over 1000 patient related trips to and from all SVH services and locations and the number continues to rise. The service implemented in 2006, has greatly reduced appointment cancellations and has become a great value to many patients, who also donate regularly to the service.”

The Golf Committee consisting of Julie Clark, Terri Vieira, Mike Peterson, Mike Schimpff, Mike Dugas, Sherry Tardy, DJ Mitchell, Mary Kate Cianchette, and Linda Cregnole, started the process in January, 2015 and brought the event to a huge success under the leadership and talent of Julie Clark.
