Michael joined SVH in 2006 after having worked for fourteen years in a variety of healthcare management roles with the member organizations of EMHS (Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems). He earned his masters of science degree in business from Husson College in Bangor, and a bachelor of science in public administration from the University of Maine.
The Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) credential requires a rigorous set of criteria that includes academic preparation, healthcare management experience, tenure as an ACHE affiliate, passing the Board of Governors Examination in Healthcare Management, continuing education, references, and community and civic involvement. The FACHE credential signifies a healthcare leader with a specific level of expertise, experience, and commitment to continuing education and professional development.
The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) is an international professional society whose members lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. The ACHE mission is to advance healthcare management excellence through high ethical standards, pertinent knowledge, and a relevant credentialing program. The organization is known for promoting the values of integrity, lifelong learning, leadership and diversity in healthcare executives through its ongoing educational programs, its annual Congress on Healthcare Leadership, and career development and public policy programs.
