| SVH Receives WELCOA Bronze Award |
| |
The Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA) presented its Bronze Well Workplace Award to Sebasticook Valley Hospital (SVH) for its excellence in employee wellness initiatives. The Bronze Well Workplace Award recognizes organizations for their commitment to employee health and well-being. SVH is the first hospital in the Sebasticook Valley region to receive a WELCOA award.
“Wellness at SVH began as a way to reduce workers compensation costs and claims,” said John C. May, SVH President and CEO. “Over the past several years, we have linked wellness to strategic goals like employee retention, job satisfaction, and reducing medical insurance costs and claims. We have seen impressive results that can be attributed to the many employee wellness initiatives SVH has adopted since 2001.”
“SVH has made a strong commitment to the health and well-being of its employees. In this undertaking, SVH has created a work environment that is second to none in terms of morale, productivity, and health,” said David Hunnicutt, President of the Wellness Councils of America. “Quite truly, SVH has become one of ‘America’s Healthiest Companies.”
With more than 2,500 member organizations located throughout North America, WELCOA is recognized for their innovative and results-oriented approach to worksite wellness. Only a handful of companies each year meet the rigorous standards to achieve a Well Workplace Award. |
