Terri Vieira, Vice President of Operations for Sebasticook Valley Hospital, has announced the hiring of Donald G. Charlson RNC, MS, for the position of Director of Emergency Services at the Pittsfield hospital. Charlson began his duties on February 19th.
Charlson has worked in a number of healthcare settings in Maine and New Mexico. Prior to his career in nursing, Charlson was an Emergency Medical Technician and also served as a U.S. Army Flight Medic during Desert Storm. He earned an associate’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. Charlson has also studied in China, Bulgaria, and France. He is expected to graduate in the spring with a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Maine. Charlson is nationally board certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is also licensed as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico and a Licensed Acupuncurist in Maine.
Charlson is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Emergency Nurses’ Association.
