Sebasticook Valley Hospital (SVH) President and CEO John C. May has announced that the hospital has worked closely with Howard R. Margolskee, MD, to complete the arrangements to purchase the Pittsfield Health Care Center facility on Somerset Avenue. Dr. Margolskee, an internist, is retiring from clinical practice after nearly two decades of service to the Pittsfield area. The practice will continue to offer the services of both physicians and mid-level healthcare providers. The change in ownership will occur within thirty days.
"We are tremendously grateful for the healthcare service and leadership Dr. Margolskee has provided to this region. He has built a thriving practice, personally serving thousands of people with excellent care, while recruiting a team of physicians and health care professionals to his practice. We all wish Dr. Margolskee well in his retirement, and we look forward to working with the medical and office staff of Pittsfield Health Care Center", stated SVH President/CEO May.
Pittsfield Health Care Center is the latest SVH expansion as the hospital continues to experience significant growth. In the past year, SVH opened the Sebasticook Regional Walk-In Care practice on Main Street in Clinton in August, Eastern Maine Urology Services and Somerset Surgical Associates in Detroit in June, and most recently added a new SVH Rehabilitation Center in Newport in November as demand for services such as physical and occupational therapy continued to increase at its Pittsfield location.
Patients of the Pittsfield Health Care Center will continue to be able to access the same services they have in the past. SVH accepts coverage from Medicare, Mainecare, most commercial insurance plans, as well as private pay for patient services. SVH will share at a later date the announcement of a public open house to be scheduled for early summer at the practice. |
