| Michael Peterson Joins SVH as Vice President of Clinical Services |

Sebasticook Valley Hospital (SVH) President and CEO John C. May has announced the hiring of Michael Peterson, CHE (Certified Healthcare Executive) as the organization's new Vice President of Clinical Services. Peterson will join SVH on April 17th.
"I am pleased to welcome Michael to this key leadership position at SVH. Since 1992 Michael has worked with the member organizations of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. His experience in the health care and his skills in working with a broad cross-section of physicians, administration,
clinical managers and staff were key factors in the decision", shared May.
At SVH Peterson will direct and lead several clinical service areas including Diagnostic Services, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Services, and Specialty Services. He will serve as a member of the hospital's Operations Team.
Michael Peterson began his healthcare career at The Acadia Hospital, transferring to Eastern Maine Healthcare in 1998 to become the Project Manager for Y2K Compliance and in 2000, becoming EMMC's Director of Surgical and Imaging Systems. In 2001 Peterson was hired by Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems as the Director of eBusiness and increased his responsibilities to add the role of Corporate Director - Information Systems in 2003.
Peterson received his Masters of Science in Business from Husson College and a Bachelor's of Science in Public Administration from the University of Maine at Orono. He is a Board Certified Healthcare Executive through the American College of Healthcare Executives, 2005 Nominee for CIO Magazine's "Ones to Watch" award; and the 2005 recipient of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives "John Glaser" Scholarship Award. He is also a graduate of The Healthcare Advisory Board's EMHS Healthcare Leadership Academy.
