| Amelito Malapira MD to Join SVH Specialty Services |

Sebasticook Valley Hospital (SVH) President & CEO John C. May recently announced that Amelito Malapira MD has joined SVH Specialty Services as a neurologist. The Skowhegan-based physician will begin seeing patients at the Pittsfield hospital in September.
A graduate of the University of Philippines and the University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines, Dr. Malapira has been a professor of neurology since 1998 at the University of South Alabama before opening a private practice in Skowhegan three years ago. He has done extensive research and training in the fields of headaches and strokes, and has done work with spinal cord injuries. Dr. Malapira is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society, the American Heart Association Stroke Council, and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Board certified in neurology, Dr. Malapira will begin seeing patients at SVH Specialty Services in September who are referred by a primary-care physician. |
